The Innotek SD-2000 Basic In-Ground Pet Fencing system is the company’s basic model and proves competent for certain uses.
The Innotek SD-2000 utilizes a collar that is not rechargeable. The collar requires a proprietary battery (RFA-18-11). The RFA-18-11 battery typically costs $6 and has a life of approximately 2 months.
Another drawback to the the SD-2000 is that it allows for only one correction level. This single correction setting limits an owner's flexibility to adjust correction levels for larger stubborn dogs or smaller submissive dogs.
The collar band includes a snap-type buckle which we find much more convenient than the belt-style buckles on the higher end Innotek models.
A lifetime warranty is included with the Innotek SD-2000. Unfortunately a lifetime warranty translates into a comprehensive warranty for the first year only. After the first year, Innotek will provide parts free of charge but a service charge will be assessed. Given the low cost of the unit, it is often more economical to replace the unit after the first year than to have Innotek perform repairs.
