The PetSafe PRF-3004W has only one correction level which can be effective for many dogs. However, if your dog is stubborn and has a history of non-compliance, you may want to try something with multiple correction levels. The PetSafe PRF-3004W has a non-rechargeable proprietary battery (RFA-67D-11) that lasts two to three months before requiring replacement. The price for an RFA-67D-11 battery is quite reasonable. Two batteries can be purchased for less than $10 so your annual cost will be under $50. Although battery costs are not excessive, owners should consider a system with a rechargeable collar due to convenience.
The system includes both a warning area and a correction area. The first 20% of the "boundary zone" is the warning area.
