The Dogtra EF-3000 Gold is a good all round system, priced and featured comparably to the the Innotek IUC-4100.
The Dogtra receiver collar uses a lithium polymer battery (very similar to a lithium ion battery). Like Innotek's IUC-4100 we have found it to have a long life. The collar recharges in about two hours by plugging it into an included adaptor. Each charge lasts about three weeks.
The correction level is adjusted on the collar which allows for different correction levels for each dog. The collar also includes a vibration setting (the collar vibrates when the dog approaches the correction zone) which is a useful features for dogs. Unlike the Innotek there is no way to tell if the collar has been fitted correctly. The collar is a bit bigger and chunkier that the Innotek IUC-4100.
We have not had much long-term exposure to these systems, but have seen many of the older Dogtra systems operating in the field reliably. We would thus expect the EF-3000 to be as long-lasting and reliable as its siblings.
Dogtra systems have a range of 40 acres, about ten times bigger than the Innotek. This is clearly an advantage for owners with larger properties. However, unlike the Innotek systems, the EF-3000 is not compatible with indoor pods.
Anecdotally the EF-3000 seems to have less interference issues than other systems. Perhaps since Dogtra is comparatively rare, it is uncommon for us to hear of any interference issues due to neighboring dog fence systems.
The Dogtra EF-3000 comes with a two year limited parts and labor warranty. This is in many ways better than the limited lifetime warranty offered by Innotek, Petsafe and Perimeter Technologies systems which are really lifetime parts and one year labor or something similar. But it would be nice if Dogtra extended its warranty on parts like its competitors.
Overall we still think the Innotek IUC-4100 is the better system due to a sleeker collar, collar fit detector, indoor zone compatibility and longer warranty. But the EF-3000 is a close second. However, if you have a property over 4 acres, a deaf dog or an interfering system next door, this is the one to get.
